The West of England Unit (Exeter), Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) forms part of the South West Peninsula deanery ophthalmology rotation. The hospital has the following special clinics: paediatrics, ocular motility, neuro-ophthalmology, medical retina, oculo-plastic s, vitreo-retinal, glaucoma, botulinum, retinopathy of prematurity screening. Sub-specialty training includes paediatrics, ocular motility, neuro-ophthalmology, medical retina, oculo-plastics, vitreo-retinal and glaucoma. Postgraduate teaching consists of one half-day session per week consisting of clinical presentations and discussion. Audit sessions occur once every eight weeks, journal club on Mondays during lunchtime. This hospital is typically staffed by 7 consultants.
